Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By using the Ridgeflow website or apps ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service is — and isn't

Ridgeflow aggregates trail, hut, campsite, terrain, weather and points-of-interest information for locations worldwide, from public-agency and community sources (OpenStreetMap, national and regional park agencies, and national mapping agencies — see Attribution below). This information is provided as-is, for planning purposes only:

• Trail, hut and campsite status, access, fees and conditions change frequently. Always verify locally — with the managing agency, posted signage and current conditions — before you go. A trail shown open here can be washed out, closed or dangerous today.
• Coverage is uneven between countries and the app says where it is thin. Official closure notices, avalanche advisories and severe-weather warnings are integrated for some places and not others; where they are not, the app tells you so rather than implying all-clear. Never read the absence of a warning as a statement that conditions are safe.
• Routing, time estimates and terrain data are estimates. They are not a substitute for your own judgment, navigation skills, river-crossing judgment, or emergency preparedness in remote areas. Absence of a warning is never an all-clear.
• We are not responsible for injury, loss, fines, or damage arising from reliance on the Service. Backcountry travel is inherently risky and you undertake it at your own risk. Tell someone your intentions before you go.

3. Accounts

You sign up with your own email address and a password. There is no username, and the address you give is the one we use to reach you — for confirmation, password resets and receipts, and nothing else. You are responsible for safeguarding your password; you can reset it yourself from the sign-in screen at any time.

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Account → "Delete account"). Deletion is immediate and permanent: it erases your account and the data synced to it, and we cannot restore it afterwards. Offline maps already downloaded to your device are yours and are not touched — they were never on our servers.

We may also delete or suspend an account that is used to abuse the Service or other people. Where we do, we will say why.

4. Purchases

A new account gets seven days with every feature open, and we do not ask for a card to start. Nothing renews by itself at the end of the trial — if you do nothing, you are not charged.

When the trial ends the app does not lock. The map, contour topo sheet, 3D terrain, trail data, huts, campsites, search and forecasts remain free. A subscription unlocks route planning, offline map downloads, weather overlays and trip recording. Current prices are shown in the app and on the checkout page before you pay; the price shown at checkout is the price charged.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time in Account — access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and no further charge is taken. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed and refunded under those stores' terms. Purchases made on our website are processed by Stripe; contact us at [email protected] for billing questions. Entitlements apply across every platform where you sign in with the same account.

5. Acceptable use

• No scraping, bulk-downloading, reselling, or redistributing the Service's data or map tiles beyond the app's built-in offline features.
• No attempts to bypass feature gating, rate limits, or authentication.
• No unlawful use.

6. Your content

Routes and spots you save remain yours. You grant us the license needed to store and sync them for you. We do not sell your personal data — see the Privacy Policy.

7. Third-party data & attribution

Official trail and campground networks elsewhere are used under each publisher's licence, including: US Forest Service, US Geological Survey and National Park Service (US federal, public domain); USDA NAIP imagery (public domain); Parks Canada (OGL-Canada); NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, Tasmania (theLIST), Queensland (QPWS) and South Australia (DEW) (CC-BY 4.0); swisstopo, IGN France, Kartverket Norway, Sport Ireland, ČÚZK Czechia, Land Tirol, Provincia di Bolzano (CC0), LDBV Bavaria and others (CC-BY 4.0 or equivalent). Each dataset remains subject to its own licence and its publisher's disclaimers.

8. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR AVAILABILITY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be noted in the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
